Since Lisa is a really strong Christian, I wonder what she thinks of the Passion of the Christ film. Did she take her kids to it as some have said it may be too graphic and gory.

I can't really say for sure what she thinks. I do think she posted something about it in her journal, though. You might want to check it out. She said something about her and her husband going and seeing it without the kids, and if they felt that it was okay, then they'd let them see it. Like I said, you might check out her daily journal and read it for yourself. www.lisawhelchel.com

She wrote this about it:

Lisa what do you think of Mel Gibson's latest movie? What do you think of it being rated "R"? I'm sure you don't allow your kids to watch "R" rated movies, are you concerned about the message you are sending them if you let them see this "R" rated movie?
Lisa Whelchel says, I'm very excited about Mel Gibson's latest movie. I wish it wasn't rated "R", but it doesn't concern me about the message I'm sending my children by seeing it myself. I don't plan to take them to see it with us the first time. But, I believe the movie is for the world more than it is for Christians, anyway. The world is used to seeing "R" rated films and the reality of the crucifixion of Jesus doesn't need to be blunted to pacify religiosity.
Lisa Whelchel says, On a side note, I like what my daughter, Clancy, said yesterday. She asked if Mel Gibson was a Christian. When I answered, "Apparently so" she said, "Great!" "I'd love to spend eternity with Mel Gibson!"
