View Full Version : The Nuggets got screwed vs the Lakers
Did anyone see the Nuggets/Lakers game last night, the Nuggets got screwed. I think their is an NBA conspiracy among David Stern and the refs to help the Lakers, much like their is an MLB conspiracy among Bud Selig and the umpires to hurt the Yankees, but that is something for another day.
Anyway, the Nuggets grab a rebound off a mis shot with 27 seconds left and up by 2, the referee blows the whistle, at first calling it a 24 second violation eventhough the shot hit iron, then they call it an accidental whisle and call a jump ball. That is bull, the Nuggets should get the ball. Anyway the Lakers get the ball and hit a 3 pointer to win the game. Then the Nuggets coach had to be restrant as he was going after the referee, I wish they would have let him attack the referee because he deserved it.
The NBA officals when it comes to officating the Lakers games are a joke. The NBA should at least take a page out of the NFL book and issue a public apology to the Nuggets, and at least say "Sorry my bad." The Nuggets outplayed the Lakers and deserved to win that game. The Nuggets were screwed last night just like the Kings were screwed in the 2002 Western Conference Finals. (the real NBA Finals)
jekouptown 02-26-2004, 03:52 PM I SAW IT..THEY GOT ROBBED. The ref that was all the way on the otherside of the court made the call. How did Carmelo get the ball if it didn't hit the rim.....Why jump ball.? What about instant replay in the final 2 minutes of a game.......!?!?!
isiahthomas 02-26-2004, 04:02 PM I didn't know Denver got robbed by the refs last night. I did see highlights of that game. I hope the Lakers get beat in the playoffs this yr. Hopefully Minnesota, San Antonio, Sacramento can take them out. I'm tired of seeing the Lakers in the finals. Carmelo always has a good game against the Lakers. Him & Kobe had the same amount of points last night which was 35. Kareem Rush of the Lakers is a good player. I saw the three pointer he hit to win the game. He needs to play a lot more.
I hate the Lakers, for the last few years (especially with the way my Knicks have played this century, who unfortunitly will pay this sunday because Denver is pissed) what I have rooted for in the NBA playoffs is anybody but the Lakers.
Though the guy I can't stand the most is Phil Jackson. The two Western Confrence teams I am rooting for is Minnesota and Sacramento. Unless the Celtics make it to the Finals I will root for the Eastern Confrence to win the title. (I like rooting for the underdog) But as long as the Lakers are knocked off I'll be happy.
isiahthomas 02-26-2004, 04:43 PM U think the Celtics might make it to the finals? Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. What have u been smokin? Celtics won't even make the playoffs this yr as terrible as they've been playing. The Celtics deserve what's happening to them cause nobody on their team has a inside game. Everybody shoots too many jumpshots & they live by the perimeter.

Denver screwed theirself when they gave up a 11 point lead late in the 4th quarter. So they can't get mad at the refs.
No I don't think the Celtics will make it to the Finals. I just said I would root for the Eastern Conference champion in the Finals, unless it is the Celtics, I just can't root for the Celtics.
EricIdlefan 02-27-2004, 12:49 AM The Celtics haven't been good in the days of Ainge, Bird, and McHale
The NBA has suspended one of the officals from the Nuggets/Lakers game for three games without pay. Finally some justice.

You're missing the point...
Teams making runs througout the game is the nature of basketball. Blowing a call like that is inexcusable.
EricIdlefan 02-27-2004, 06:53 PM The Lakers are just a bunch of wining, spoiled, egotistical, prima donnas, wealthy, bad attitudes, cocky and arrogant jerks!! Anybody except Shaq, Kobe, and Company!!

Is that because the nuggeyts rAN to the league office? Would they have made a big deal if Karrem Rush MISSED the three=pointer?

My point is the Nuggets would have not made a big deal about the call if the Lakers MISSED the 3-pointer.
EricIdlefan 02-28-2004, 05:49 PM The NBA proves that not just players but officials, general managers, coaches, and owners aren't above the law!!
ConservativeBalla 03-02-2004, 09:46 AM Ahhhh!!!!! I can't stand the Lakers, and the refs that favor them are pathetic.
Anyway, how did Van Exel do in the Nuggets/Lakers game?
isiahthomas 03-02-2004, 10:47 AM Van Exel plays for Golden State. Where have u been? LOL.

I hope that person just got Golden state and the Nuggets confused. Van Exel played for the Dallas Mavericks before the Warriors. (trade for Jamison)
