View Full Version : Tonights Episode 24/02 *SPOILER*
sk8rboiiii 02-24-2004, 11:13 PM Hey guys, Im new to this board!
What did you guys think of tonights episode? I think its my favorite, just because it was so crazy and fun filled, and then it hit you in the stomach with the fact that Ben died.
One question though, when do you think he really died, I mean he was alive for those tests.... did he die the day after? It had to be within that 2 day window that Dr. Cox slept.
EDIT: I put spoiler just in case someone hadnt seen it yet!
psxer2600 02-24-2004, 11:21 PM I think that when JD handed the chart to Dr. Cox and said "He went into cardiac arrest fifteen minutes after you left" that it was Ben's chart. That's why no one else but Dr Cox talks to Ben or acknowledges him from then on. It wasn't until the end of the episode that Dr. Cox was able to let himself believe that Ben had died, and that was when he disappeared. Anyway, that's just my take on it.
dukkillr 02-25-2004, 01:39 AM My roommates and I talked about this too. I think that the reason Dr. Cox was blaming JD was because the bad news was about Ben. Really when does Dr. Cox get so angry at JD if someone dies? The only explanation for why Dr. Cox handled it the way he did is because it wasn't some random guy who died, it was Ben. Tonights episode is my favorite by far, very funny, very sentimental, and required some deeper thoughts...
*GoodMorningCalgary* 02-25-2004, 10:16 AM haven't seen it yet! I taped it. so I'll write what I think a little later today
Chocoholic 02-25-2004, 11:01 AM I thought it was brilliant, touching, and very well-done. Ben dying was such a shocker.
Maybe this will be the year we'll finally see awards nominations for Scrubs. They truly deserve it. The last two weeks with Michael J Fox were also great.
sk8rboiiii 02-25-2004, 04:47 PM The thing is I have a cold, so basically it didnt really hit me until JD said "Where do you think we are?". Thats when it hit me like a ton of bricks!
Im just saddened by the fact that now Ben (or Brendan Fraser) wont be coming back, he was my favorite special guest.

I too didn't realize Ben was dead until the end. What a shocker! I thought it was the old man who had the cardiac arrest and had died. But I couldn't figure out why Cox was that upset about it; patients die all the time. I guess I'm going to have to watch closer. Good thing I recorded it so I can rewatch. I'm going to miss Brendan Frasier too, though he was "dead" for half of this episode. Maybe he'll come back as a ghost.
Wow, great episode and shocking ending.

I couldn't figure out how it all went down but that makes a lot of sense. I wish I had it on tape so I can watch it again now that I know the ending.
Roobeanz 02-25-2004, 07:34 PM What a tear jerker! Sad very sad. Good Show. I want to find out what was that song playing at the end, in the funeral, it went something like this, "I remember the truth, a warm december with you." If anyone knows the title of this song, or who wrote it, i would greatly appreciate it!!:)

Well my logic was that because Dr. Cox told him to drop that patient for 30 minutes and said something like "I saw his EKG and he wont die in half an hour", he felt guilty because he had told JD to ignore the guy, and then he died. It was very clever the way they mislead (at least some of) the audience.

It was really sad and th song was just so moving and touching!! I watched it after I taped it because being a Survivor freak!!
GrizzledVeteran 02-26-2004, 09:49 AM I also loved the episode and completely missed on Ben dying. My wife saw it coming but I didn't. But the part with Ben pulling the strings on Elliott like a marionette was hilarious! Man, I love this show!
Eddie Haskell 03-01-2004, 01:59 AM This was a terriffic episode; this show, although a sitcom, always makes you think about things a little bit without going overboard. This episode reminded me of the movie, The Sixth Sense. My wife also figured it out before I did.....guess I was too busy laughing about other parts of the show.
*GoodMorningCalgary* 03-01-2004, 07:40 PM Pretty damn good. I always love these heartfelt and touching episodes. I dunno about anyone else but I think this episode felt like an episode from the first season. I'm not sure why but I think it was from the acting or the writing or something. But thats what it felt like....
so overall....even though there are better episodes. This one was pretty awesome.
