It's a German (I think) product, so it's available all over Europe. I haven't seen it anywhere in the states, however.

Yeah I was first introduced to it when I was in Germany. They do have it here but it's kind of hard to find.

You can find it at specialty food stores :)

For the ones trying to find it it's on the aisle where the jam and jellies are. They don't sell it at specialty stores only; I buy it at Walmart :)

It depends where you live - sometimes they have it at regular supermarkets, but sometimes you have to look :)

Really? I love Alton Brown! but I wouldn't try to make it at home. Is more the time I'll waste trying than just taking the car and riding to the store 5 minutes away:lol:

OMG Nutella is the greatest thing ever. I bought some around the holidays, but I was too scared to try it. I finally opened it a week ago and  tastes JUST like a Ferrero Rocher which is my faaaaaaaavorite chocolate candy.

I've seen it here for years (since childhood) but have never been able to bring myself to even try it. I like hazelnut and chocolate, but can't picture spreading it on BREAD! BLAH! It was huge with my Italian friends. You can get it in any grocery store here - next to the peanut and jams.

I've always thought it was Italian, but when I go to their different websites, nothing confirms it for sure - just that its really popular all over Europe!

I've got a sample packet in my pantry right now!! Its funny though I used to like Ferrero Roche (or however you spell it), but have gone off it lately.

Yeah, Nutella is Italian. It's made by the same company that makes the Ferrero Rocher candies. It's hugely popular in Europe - according to their site, Nutella outsells all brands of peanut butter combined worldwide.

I was absolutely obsessed with Nutella when I was living in Germany. I still ate it frequently until a few years ago, although this topic makes me want to go eat a nutella sandwich right now. :o

LOL! This reminds me of my leadership class! I think everyone there has eaten Nutella at least once. Sometimes, some people would just bring whole jars of it with crackers and eat that for lunch!

Heh, I assumed it was German because most chocolate/candies in Poland come from there. I never bothered to check where it was made on the label, though. I've still never seen it sold here. Not in Colorado, at least.

Ditto. Not in my neck of the woods, anyway. They'd probably have some in Fargo and definitely in Minneapolis.

And I don't even like hazelnut so I really don't think I'd like Nutella anyway.
