I was watching "The Price Is Right" on my DVR since I came home from work that after the commercial, Bob Barker was announcing that on Monday, March 1st, "The Price Is Right" is going to air the 6,000th episode. I saw the 5,000 episode back in 1998. I thought that it would be fun.

I saw the "Price Is Right's" 6,000th episode today since I came home from work while using my DVR. I thought it was great. Bob Barker is still the greatest. Here's an article from tvgameshows.net:
6,000: Milestone Sees New Daytime Record Set
Details will be available tonight but a new daytime record of winnings was set Monday on the 6,000 CBS daytime episode of "The Price Is Right" Monday.
The contestant (first name, Amy) captured more than $97,000 total winnings, the closest any player has come to $100,000 on the daytime show.
The milestone episode continues a record which will likely never be surpassed among network game shows. A total of 9,300 episodes of "Price", including Bill Cullen version and the various syndicated editions of the 70's through the 90's have been produced.
Other than introducing stage games and tweaking small elements of its format, "Price" has changed in actual structure.
However, the last decade has been shift from the traditional thirtysomething housewife contestant to a heavy diet of college students to give a show a younger look.
By the way, 1,000 episodes ago, tpir.tv had put out recent clips from the 5,000th episode as first shown in 1998. Go to this site:

Besure to watch tomorrow for its post 6,000th show. By the way, on that episode there is a new announcer on "The Price Is Right" waiting in the wings. His name is Roger Rose. Way to go, Roger!
