I only had the good fortune of being able to contribute to solving a mystery once...and in the end it turrned out I was one of about 100 or so who contributed.
The story first aired in late 1992, A young girl named Terry Smith living in California with her Dad Herb Smith went to stay with another family, a family who was significantly better off than one from which she came.
Herb Smith, it turned out, was my great-uncle who left St. Albans W.V. around 1952 or 3 under less than idle circumstances.
My grand mother recognized him and terry as well as other names in the story....but believe it or not, I actually had to coax her into phoning in with her information....old phone numbers and adresses of Terry and her siblings from around 1981.
The case WAS solved and Terry was reunited with the family, but the UPDATE was short and contained only a blurry still photo of Terry.
I know the reason for this...but can only divulge it broadly. I have spoken with one of Terry's sisters since....there was sort of a rift between her, Terry and her others siblings....as well as my grand mother and Herb....details will not be given, but they arrose in 1981 When Herb died.
I seriously doubt that this story will be updated further oweing to the unfortunate undertones and back story which was not....and WILL NOT be made public.
If anyone who knows terry sees this....let her know that at least one of her relatives in St. Albans W.V. would like to hear from her and put the past behind him. have several photos of family members that you may wish to see.
Thank you.
