Guys,
I read that back in the 1950's-70's, many shows of all types had their tapes destroyed in the late 70's or so when warehouse space became clogged and ("They say") it became too expensive to store the customary 8mm and 16mm tapes that the shows were stored on. As a result, many classic programs were destroyed.
One of the biggest disappointments for sports fans, is that the first two Superbowls are believed lost or destroyed. Only stock-footage highlights remain. I read about some NBA championship game in the 60's, where they only show the second half because the entire first half was erased. Other than the two first Superbowls, what other demand for major classic sports tapes are belived to be destroyed that collectors may be interested in getting if the tapes ever do show up?
