Happy 86th birthday to one of TV's top game show announcers Don Pardo. He's best known for his work on the original Price is Right with Bill Cullen and the original version of Jeopardy with Art Fleming. Every Jeopardy episode opened with the Pardo line "These three people compete for cash and prizes on (drum beats) JEOPARDY!" He also was the announcer for other New York based games, including Eye Guess and Jackpot!
In the mid 70s, he began his longest running gig as the announcer on Saturday Night Live. When Wheel of Fortune taped a week of shows at Radio City Music Hall, Pardo's voice was heard.
In the immortal words of Art Fleming, "Thank you Don Pardo!" Happy 86th birthday to a famed TV voice.
