"addison associates have the goods"
while maddie is selling the agency, david hooks up with a man worried he will lose his job over a stolen rolodex. maddies sells. dave then decides to start his own company and go after the rolodex. the man ends up keeping it once it was found to extort money from his employer. after talking him into a deal to secure him a job, the tio return the rolodex only to make a deal with the underhanded man who bought bluemoon. he and the rolodex, with credit for retrieving it, in exchange dave gets the "bluemoon detective agency".
so dave runs the company now.
dave does a greatly choreographed chase scene through the office building foiling all the security personnel.
marl-linn baker portrays the guy dave got involved with here. man, i can't see him without thinking of the show "perfect strangers". i hate that show!!
who made up the name for this episode??!!?!?!?

Hey, Bobby.
Whenever I see this title, I know I love the episode, but sadly I don't remember much more than the Rolodex. ohno:
The title was actually a play on Ayn Rand's novel, "Atlas Shrugged." Don't know where the belch comes in, though. :D

i might be going out on a limb here, because i never know with moonlighting, but i believe i saw maddie fall in love with david in this episode.
the best episode so far and maddie just shined.
the title:
what maddie has with david is more important to her than money.
maddie 'broke up' with david by selling the agency. the older gentleman, who bought the agency from her, was so much like the other older gentlemen from her past.
and it no longer works for her. the older gentleman just set her aside, and the resentful look on maddie's face when she was standing outside her office after he had done that...
david:
is that what the last 10 months have been about is just business? were not done yet.
i love david's laugh.
maddie:
why are you leaving?
david:
why are you leaving?
"leavin' on your mind' by patsy cline playing when david was in the bar. this shows music is so diverse and excellent.
david:
we were just getting to the best part.
two of the best sexy scenes ever:
both of them sitting on the stair case saying the same thing at the same time
and
maddie picking up david's business card and the way they looked at each other. oh-my-goodness!
david knows how to be left:
david:
i had a good time.
maddie:
me too.
i have never seen maddie this warm and easy with david. she actually flirted first when she asked him for a job. i think that maddie in her heart felt she was just getting to the good stuff with david. by asking him for a job, a huge shift happened between them. she's following him! and boy, does he look pleased about that.
now they are on the same side.
This is another step in Maddie breaking with the past. I don't remember any episodes after this one where she looked back. You also picked up on my favorite line. "Is this what the last 10 months have been about? Just business?" David is forcing her to acknowledge on some level that there's more between them than just business.

I agree. This is a really great episode. I also like the scenes with David and Phil West (Mark Linn-Baker)...the relationship between the two of them is almost a precusor to the future relationship between Mr. Addison and Mr. Viola.
But the chemistry between Maddie and David is thick thick thick in this episode. You can sense the hearts pounding when they interact with each other. It does seem that when Maddie does one of the most selfish acts....(selling their business for her financial gain) it leads to her turning it into one of the most selfless acts (working for David). And that in turn makes David turn his act of self-interest (starting his own firm) into one of sacrifice for Maddie...actually for both of them together (giving up Addison and Associates to retain Blue Moon). These two both put the other's interest before their own. They both at the end sacrifice something of their self to keep them together. Interesting!
Another great episode, I think its my favourite so far.
I can't add anything to Marla and Cindy's analysis, they are both spot on with their comments. I believe Maddie does fall for David in this episode. That scene in Maddie's house:love:
Now I am glad I missed these episodes when I was a teenager, I really wouldn't have got it then and I am so enjoying watching them now :D
