Microsoft began taking orders this week for its promised Security Update CD. The free CD includes all critical security fixes issued by Microsoft since October 2003 for Windows XP, Windows Me, Windows 2000, Windows 98, and Windows 98 Second Edition (SE). There also is some free antivirus and firewall trial software on the CD, as well, according to reports. The CD is targeted primarily at customers who have had problems keeping up with the myriad Microsoft fixes due to bandwidth constraints. The cd will be shipped to you free of charge

That may be the most out-of-the-box thing I've EVER seen on the MS Website. Yes, it's for a kids CD. But, to go and just turn around and post all of the main text right there on the site. Dang

i'm just curious - did anyone here order the cd (which is free BTW) ?

second question:

how many people who didn't order the cd, have had a virus or trojan infect their computer?

Well, since we have a cable modem(AKA, always connected) and Windows Update do it automatically, we don't need it.

I love Cable Internet. If it wouldn't go out for no reason it would be perfect. :happyface

I have cable modem, but I ordered it anyway. My motto has always been, if it's free, it's for me. ;)
