Who else has seen this rare, made-for-TV movie? I remember watching it on TV when I was young, and it was scary indeed, but it gets me hooked. And you? ;)

 This movie creeped me out when I watched it in '82. Like you, I was just a kid and I loved it! They don't show tv movies like this anymore, which is a shame. Remember the part when the younger sister is walking up the stairs with the pizza cutter?

A few years ago, I watched it again on the Mystery Channel and had fun all over again.

Couldn't get the allmovieguide.com link to work, so here's one from IMBD: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0083844/

Oh, my gosh!!!! Yes!!!! That one I remember all too well!!! It was one of the major highlights of the movie!!! Everytime I think about pizza cutters, it takes me back to Mary and her climbing the stairs.. Hahaha... I was able to get that movie on Ebay a couple of months ago, and I loaned it to a co-worker whose daughter loves these kinds of movies. It's such a shame these types of movies don't appear much anymore. This one is classic. :(

 Same here! And that look in her eyes as she sloooowly makes her way up the stairs, the sound of it cutting into the wood. It still sends a chill up my spine.

Oh man, that's great! Yeah, I think it is too. It'd be so nice if they had a channel that played nothing but those old made-for-tv movies. They deserve to be shown much more often. :(

Well, I searched and thought I'd revive this thread. Yep, it's been nearly an entire two whole years! Holy moley!!

Anyway.... for anyone interested (and Susan Norton since she posted remembering this movie), I have digitized some video clips and some audio and am in the works of making a forum to gather 'round ALL Don't Go to Sleep fans. :D I will post more details and the URL as soon as I design and make the forum a little more presentable!

Thanks for mentioning this film everybody! I too saw this as a kid, but I could not remember the show. I had visions of that pizza cutter scene in my head for years and nobody never understood what movie I was talking about.

There's other classic movies I want to see again Like the first Darryled Hanna horror movie Don't Go In The Woods. Bad acting first. The writing is bad. Others bad 70's horror movies Grizzly about a 10 feet bear who killspeople in Natinal Yellowston park, While I saw this when I was a kid it was greatbut, now I saw it it was terrable.Frogs with Joan Van Ark about frogs insects invading a houe in the woods of Loussia na, It was'nt bad.Other slasaher flicks Halloween Micheal Myers, startedt it all in 1978 he escaped from a mental hospital and treying to fing his half sister he almost gets her ,untill Halloween 3. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre part 2 a lo t of guts ,blood, the first one was not that bloody just scary based on a true store. Horror movies will always be here lets just hope we have better and scary ones in the near furture. For instance the remake of TheFog which they did a remake this year The Fog is coming to DVD soon I;ll see it,But the first one with Jamiee Lee-curtiss was the best. Kids sitting around amp fire storeis telli stories or Freddy Kregker or Jason stories the movies will always be alive and well. We need to scare people to come to the theaters more. When A Stranger Calls Back a remake from the 70's is here and Black Chirstmas another remake from the 70's about a girls dorm who played in the superman movies starred in the first one.Happy Birthday to Me is in talks a 1981 horror movie with Melissia Sue-Anderson from Littlt House. starrs in the old one, Do we need to make more remakes mabe, and mabe no. Not scince Friday th 13 and Halloween,Hellraise,Nightmare things have'nt been making very good hoor movies simce then.
