I understand there may be budget constraints in getting Marlo Thomas, Christina Applegate, and especially Reese Witherspoon to guest in one episode, but Rachel could have mentioned that they were "in the lounge" or "had to run home to get something" rather than leaving the impression that her and Ross were the only ones visiting her father in intensive care.

Rachel's mom doesn't like Rachel's dad and the sisters are possibly too self-absorbed to come.

Yes, I noticed this too.

I know Mr. and Mrs. Green are estranged, but the least they could have done was mention some of the other family members.

Since Rachel's sisters are so self absorbed like Microprosa mentoned, Rachel could have gotten off a dig or two about their absence.

That's one of the problems with having big stars play a guest role; it is really hard to get them back on the show just for a brief scene or two if the plot calls for it.

Even if Mr. and Mrs. Green were estranged, something serious like a heart attack brings families together. Surely she would have paid her husband at least a visit.

At least Christina reprised her role as Amy earlier this year and even though it may be diffucult to get Reese back as Jill, the episodes where they both appeared were among my favorites. (What a great spinoff that would be to have all three sisters together!)

maybe Mrs. Green visited him at least, but left before Rachel & Ross came.

All three sisters, no thank e-yooooou. Reese and especially Applegate were headache-inducing.
