on DVD because 6 eps is a waste of time. Any release of a season or show should always have double digit amount of episodes. That way it would have been a total of 28 episodes and could have been a three disc set.

Well, 9 episodes per Disx wouldn't provide a very good quality, but I also think, that a collection of the 1st and 2nd season would have been better under normal circumstances. On the other hand, it was just great to see the early release of the 1st season!

I should have waited to buy season 1 in MaY along with season 2.

Well they make more money this way by releasing them separately...

One weird question. Why does the first season have only 6 episodes?

It was a midseason replacement in 1977... the network wanted to try out the series first before they order a full season!

I guess they were not too sure about the show at first since the show made it's debut in March instead of January.
