View Full Version : NEW NewsRadio Message Board!!!
whipwarrior 02-20-2004, 06:33 PM Due to abusive posters, I have created a brand new NR Message Board that allows complete administrative control. Users are required to register with the board in order to post there. I welcome everyone who loves NewsRadio and writing NR stories to our new community, so sign up today!

Kimbo 02-20-2004, 08:26 PM hey dale, i just registered... im just waiting for my password to be sent to me! :)
whipwarrior 02-20-2004, 11:51 PM Thanks for joining! Remember to change your password once you get it. The ones they usually send are just random combinations of letters. Also, be sure to invite other friends who like NR to join as well. I think we'll start seeing more people join when the show returns to A&E Biography channel next month. Hopefully, we can become the largest NR board on the web!

M82A1 02-24-2004, 10:37 PM Um, I registered, but there aren't any boards to post on. What's up?
Kimbo 02-24-2004, 11:10 PM yah i was trying to figure that out aswell. i guess dale has to start it all off so we can post... i was kind of confused..
whipwarrior 02-26-2004, 05:43 PM Um, guys, there are five different forums available:
*Break room, for discussing anything and everything NR
*Drivetime report, for announcing new stories
* The McNeal Perspective, for posting story reviews
*Lisa's desk, a Q&A help board
*Staff meeting, for official NR Fanfic Archive announcements.
Please tell me that you can see them, because I created them and they show up whenever I log on. Just in case, though, I'll double check the board settings. BRB

whipwarrior 02-26-2004, 06:47 PM Okay, I think I fixed the problem. Try it again and let me know if it's working. Also, I started a thread of NewsRadio quotes that were personally transcribed by me over several years. Due to posting limits, I had to break it up into several replies, but it should make for some enjoyable reading.
Now, let's get this message board cooking!

M82A1 02-27-2004, 12:16 PM Nope, still nothing.
Did you make it so that only a certain member group can view the boards?
I can see the members, and I see you have 11 posts, but when I click the "Show the last 10 posts by this user" option, it's just blank.
I have a board that's very similar to that one, so I kind of know my way around. The posting limit is 5,000 characters, right?
M82A1 02-27-2004, 10:27 PM If you want, there is a much better board system out there at http://s4.invisionfree.com/. It has a much beter Admin feature which is password protected. And you can upload pictures on these boards. There is also no posting limit.
whipwarrior 02-28-2004, 09:14 PM I created a member group, and added everyone to it, which should allow access to all of the forums (this should be a standard feature, not requiring an administrator to individually enter each and every person that subscribes to the board). Anyway, please let me know if this works, ASAP, because this thing should have been off the ground a week ago.

P.S.- I upped the posting limit to the maximum allowance of 5000 characters.
M82A1 02-29-2004, 12:43 AM Yep! It works now.
whipwarrior 02-29-2004, 12:40 PM Great! In the words of Mr. James: "Now, get back to work you naughty little monkeys, you!"
