This is got to be one of the funniest epi's I've seen! Wally dropping Beav's hamburger and Beav leaving the water running and Wally just bullying Beav into eating the peas. It was also nice to see Ward take June on an overnight trip with him, lord knows it can't be easy staying home all the time just taking care of 3 men. What a nice way to show how much he appreciates her. Yes,I know it's just a show but I'm just observant.:D

Hee! I agree! I love how Wally is like "This one's mine and this one's Beaver's"(pointing to the hamburger that fell on the floor).

I like this episode as well. I liked the scene where Mrs. Mondello and Larry come over to check on the boys. She and Larry she both Wally and Beaver coming down the stairs with wet towels, and both knew right away that something was amiss. Especially the part where Larry asks Beaver and Wally, something to the effect, "What did you goof up?"

How about that hair dryer Wally was using to dry the ceiling?

Wally using the hair dryer was so funny  I was like what does he think he's doing? They must have very thin floors to go through downtairs. Does anyone know how long they are going to be showing the marathons? I miss looking at Beaver at 6:30 although I love it on Tuesday(2 hours).

That one was very, very funny!! One of the best. But my all time favorite is "In The Soup"! I laughed for days after that one!

I think she's also thinking a little bit about Ward and June...I agree it was so sweet of Ward to take her out alone...and when she was worried about the boys staying home alone he talked things out with her and comforted her, making her feel better about leaving the boys home. Naturally Ward was right they were okay! except for that Hairdryer incident!

How come the boy's room carpeting did not get wet from the all of that water?

Did anyone notice how long it took that bathtub to fill up and overflow? Everytime they showed the faucet it was really coming out fast, but it took forever to overflow.

I loved it when Wally told Beav to quit flicking water at him.

back then did they have that little drain hole by the faucet? or was that invented years later to help prevent water from overflowing?

Yes, it was there, but was so small that it would never be able to stop that huge flow of water. It was mostly for someone who filled the tub way up, and then got into the tub, making the water way too high. That small amount of extra water would go right down that drain. It was not designed to be Beaver proof tho!

I've never seen those on a bathtub before. Just on bathroom sinks. :)

Usually it is part of the chrome part that has the lever you push up to close the drain, so the tub will fill. On the very bottom of that chrome piece, there is a small opening, that is the overflow drain.

The only tubs I have ever seen that didn't have a overflow drain were the very old ones, that had a rubber stopper that you put over the bottom drain, to allow the tub to fill.

I am still curious how come the carpeting in the boys room did not get wet? Any clues??? Or just don't even go there. lol!!!:wazzup

Oh I see. That's funny, I just had my bathtub drain replaced a few weeks ago and wondered what that opening was for.

Have you noticed that the title of this ep states something that does not take place, since Beaver did not take a bath in the ep?

I thought this might make for a good trivia question: Which episode titles are 'titles of falsity'? But looking over the list of episodes, it's just not so cut-and-dry to be a good trivia Q. I found 6 ep titles, including BTaB, where it states an event that does not happen, and 13 where the title is simply a nominative which is false [example: "Eddie's Girl"]; but still at least 15 where the title is too figurative or too idealistic to say the implication is true or false [examples: "The Perfect Father", "The Grass is Always Greener"]. And then there are those that are connotatively true, but denotatively false, like "Beaver Won't Eat" [meaning he won't eat his Brussels sprouts].

This may be LITB trivia, but it's not clear enough for a trivia question.

Veeeery Interesting!

I wonder how many more there may be?

I thought beaver was a bit dumb in this episode. how in the heck do you forget the running water in the bathtub. Usually you take the bath so soon after you startthe water running.
Although my mom would occasionally put on the tea kettle and go out to visit a neighbor and come home to a burnt kettle. She went through half dozen kettles during her life.

I agree, what was a bit of a stretch---Beaver leaving the water running like that.

As fast as that water was coming out, it should have been making a fair amount of noise....neither of the boys noticed this?

This is one of my favorites. While watching at my friend's house, during the opening credits, he was trying to change it. Halfway through, he said "We shouldn't be watching this. It's for old people". I was offended. I liked the part where Wally was using the hair dryer to dry the ceiling.

So who won, did you get to watch all of it?

Old people indeed!
