I'm on Windows XP. I just downloaded some new fonts, but how do I install them? The instructions tell me where to go, but it's probably not for XP cause I can't find what they want. Can anyone tell me where to go or what to do to install fonts once they're downloaded?

I have Windows XP too, and DL'd a bunch of fonts before, but I dont know how to use them either. I can upload them, but they wont show up. Meh. My Dad did a bunch though before.

I install fonts all the time & I'm on XP too...you can either extract them to C:\Windows\Fonts or highlight the font icons and drag them over to the Fonts folder. Let me know if it works. :)

Here is how windows tells you to do it:To add a new font to your computer
Open Fonts in Control Panel.
On the File menu, click Install New Font.
In Drives, click the drive you want.
In Folders, double-click the folder that contains the fonts you want to add.

In List of fonts, click the font you want to add, and then click OK.
To add all of the listed fonts, click Select All, and then click OK.

Notes

To open Fonts, click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Appearance and Themes. Under See Also, click Fonts.
To select more than one font to add, hold down the CTRL key, and then click each of the fonts you want to add.
You can also drag OpenType, TrueType, Type 1, and raster fonts from another location to add them to the Fonts folder. This works only if the font is not already in the Fonts folder.
To add fonts from a network drive without using disk space on your computer, make sure that the Copy fonts to Fonts folder check box, in the Add Fonts dialog box, is clear. This is available only when you install OpenType, TrueType, or raster fonts using the Install New Font option on the File menu.

Hmmm...weird. I've never installed fonts that way. What I usually do is I open up the WinZip file & drag the fonts over to the Fonts folder.

My way is easier than Emptynest's. ;)

I didn't folow Sista55's way. :p

Thing is this computer doesn't have a fonts folder on the desktop (it's a campus computer).

ahh, forget it. I'll just deal with it until I get my laptop next week.
