Poster: Vinni_Rattolle  (see this users gallery)

Lisa Waltz stars as Melissa Peters, the headstrong editor of the New York Dispatch in Columbia TriStar Television's half-hour comedy series ASK HARRIET.

Born in Limerick, Penn., Waltz studied acting on a dare from her father who wanted to enroll her at Pennsylvania State University's agriculture school, and would only pay for her to study drama if she was accepted at Carnegie-Mellon University. Waltz met his criteria and subsequently majored in theater. After graduation, she moved to New York City and landed a role in the touring company of Neil Simon's "Brighton Beach Memoirs." Initially arriving in Los Angeles to star in a pilot, Waltz has steadily worked, guest-starring on such series as "Touched by an Angel," "ER," "Mad About You," "J.A.G.," "The X-Files," "Northern Exposure," "Melrose Place" and "Dark Skies."

During the 1994-95 season, Waltz starred as Hallie Lowenthal in the revered drama "My So-Called Life." She has also been in such top-rated telefilms as "Naomi and Wynonna: Love Can Build a Bridge," "Innocent Victims," "Inner Sanctum," "Lifepod" and Showtime's "Roswell." Her feature films include "Brighton Beach Memoirs," "The Opposite Sex and How to Live With Them" and "Reckless." She will also be seen in the upcoming "Odd Couple 2," playing Jack Lemmon's daughter.

Waltz is married and lives in Los Angeles.
