as "Mickey Apple"
Alex McKenna, already an acting veteran at age twelve, launched her entertainment career five years ago at the age of seven.
After being named National Spokesperson for the Children' s Earth Fund, she traveled to Washington, D.C. to meet then-Senator Al Gore. She so impressed him that he invited Alex to join him on "The Phil Donahue Show," for a discussion about what our nation' s children could do to help preserve the environment.
She made her big-screen debut portraying Petunia Stupid in "The Stupids," with Tom Arnold. A month later she starred as Amanda in a feature horror film entitled "Campfire Horror Stories" (working title).
Recently, she starred in "Safety Patrol" for "The Wonderful World of Disney," scheduled to air this season. She also co-starred with Patrick Duffy, as Katie, in the television movie, "Heart of Fire." In addition, Alex stars in the upcoming Christmas theatrical release of "Joey," about two young teens trying to save a baby kangaroo.
Her television credits include the series, "Winnetka Road," with Ed Begley Jr. and Meg Tilly; a recurring role on "Middle Ages," with Peter Reigert; and a starring role alongside Bronson Pinchot and Courteney Cox on "The Trouble With Larry."
She starred in "Star Scouts," a children' s video series, and can be heard as the voice of Albert on the "Precious Moments" III, IV and V home video releases.
Alex made her stage debut three years ago as Scout, in the critically acclaimed Los Angeles production of "To Kill a Mockingbird," starring with Bruce Davison. It earned her rave reviews and the first Annual Dramalogue Award presented to a child actor.
In her spare time, Alex likes to attend music and theater events, enjoys different styles of horseback riding and is a big fan of The Hansons and Leonardo DiCaprio. She lives in Los Angeles with her parents, two sisters and three dogs. |
