Poster: Stuck In The '70's  (see this users gallery)

Me and Maxx aired from March until September 1980 on NBC.

In this awkward comedy dad was a heel, and his little daughter was a cute but unwanted child who could never get through to him. Norman Davis ( Joe Santos) had walked out on his wife and child years earlier to take up the life of a swinging single. Now his wife had decided that she too was going to " spread her wings," so unannounced, 11-year-old Maxx ( Melissa Michaelson) showed up at Norman's bachelor pad looking for a home. Maxx was a precocious and sensitive youngster with an extensive volcabulary learned from watching soap operas. Although her initial attitude toward her father was understandably negative , with time, and a little love, she attempted to heel the old wounds. But Norman was irked at having to adjust his bachelor lifestyle to accommindate the presence of a young daughter. The tender " lets make up" scenes at the end of each episode were so cold as to be embarrassing and the show quickly left the air.

Barbara ( Jenny Sullivan) was Norman's business partner ( they brokered tickets to Broadway shows) and occasional girlfriend; Mitch ( Jim Weston), the swinging next-door neighbor with whom Norman hung out; and Gary ( Denny Evans), the inept elevator operator.
