Stockard Channing in Just Friends aired from March until August 1979 on CBS.
After seperating from her husband Frank ( Lawrence Pressman), Susan Hughes ( Stockard Channing) decided to leave Boston and make a fresh start in sunny Los Angeles. There she found herself an apartment, a kooky neighbor named Leonard ( Gerrit Graham), and a job at a Beverly Hills health spa called the Fountain of Youth. Her boss at the spa was Milt D'Angelo ( Lou Criscuolo), an oddball physical-fittness freak who resembled a mid-fourties parody of Jack LaLamme. His ferver when discussing the merits of conditioning and exercise was pretty hard for anyone to take, including Susan, but he nevertheless liked his spunky new employee and quickly promoted her from exercise instructor to assistant manager. Susan's wealthy sister, Victoria ( Mimi Kennedy), was always on the lookout for a nice, successful professional man for Susan, someone who would get her out of that horrid job and into a classy neighborhood. Coral ( Sydney Goldsmith) was one of the instructors at the spa, Mrs. Fischer, Mrs. Blanchard and Miss Yarnell ( Joan Tolentino,Rhonda Foxx, Linda Rose ) some of the patrons; Angelo (Albert Insinnia ) was Milt's son and Miranda ( Liz Torres) was Milt's wife.
