Poster: Stuck In The '70's  (see this users gallery)

The Rounders aired from September 1966 until January 1967 on ABC.

Robust comedy , set in the contemporary West. Ben Jones ( Ron Hayes) and Howdy Lewis ( played by John Wayne's son Patrick Wayne) were two rowdy funloving cowpokes who found themeselves hog-tied and in debt to unsrupulous Jim Ed Love ( Chill Wills), owner of a vast ranch and reputedly the second richest man in Texas. ( Andy Devine made a single guest appearance as Honest John Denton, the first richest man). Jim Ed a fast-talking wheeler-dealer , dressed in custom -tailored white cowboy suits and rode the range in a souped-up station wagon, while Ben and Howdy had to put up with a mean old roan named Old Fooler. They got some relief at the Longhorn Cafe in the nearby town of Hi Lo, which they tore up every Saturday night, with the assistance of their girlfriends, Ada and Sally ( Bobbi Jordan, Janis Hansen).Rounding out the cast was Jason Wingreen as Shorty; Walker Edmiston as Regan; and J. Pat O'Malley as Vince.

Based on the novel by Max Evans , which was made into a 1965 movie co-starring Chill Wills in the same role he played on TV.
