Camp Wilder aired from September 1992 until February 1993 on ABC.
Ricky Wilder ( Mary Page Keller) was a 28 year old divorced nurse with an unusual brood. Returning to her family home upon the sudden death of her parents, she became " mom" not only to her own 6 year old, Sophie ( Tina Majorino), but to her teenaged brother Brodie ( Jerry O'Connell) and sister Melissa ( Meghann Haldeman). In addition, Ricky's lively, laissez-faire household made the Wilder kitchen a favored hangout for neighborhood teens, who preferred it to their own stricter homes.
Among the hangers-out were Brody's dim-witted buddy Dorfman ( Jay Mohr) and Beth and Danielle( Margaret Langrick, Hilary Swank). Though their parents did not always approve of Ricky's methods, everyone learned sitcom lessons in life around " Camp Wilder's" kitchen table.
From Entertainment Weekly
FRIDAY CAMP WILDER (ABC, 9:30-10 p.m.) It's the season's most uselessly complicated premise: The parents of 28-year-old Ricky Wilder (Baby Talk's Mary Page Keller) have died recently in an accident. Ricky, a newly divorced mother of a 6-year-old (Tina Majorino), moves back into her folks' home to care for her teenage siblings, played by Jerry O'Connell and Meghann Haldeman. The Wilder house then gets the nickname Camp Wilder because it becomes a hangout for all the kids in the neighborhood. Wilder is a standard-issue wisecracking-bodacious-adolescents sitcom overseen by executive producer Matthew Carlson (The Wonder Years). Keller and O'Connell are likable actors, but the only person I enjoy in this show is one of the neighborhood teens, a sly dufus named Dorfman (Jay Mohr). The only reason I like him is because in the series premiere he used the terms internal rhyme and analogy correctly in different sentences. These days, you take your educational TV where you can find it. C
