Poster: Stuck In The '70's  (see this users gallery)

Throb aired from September 1986 until September 1988 in first run syndication.

A comedy that satirized the youth-oriented record business. Sandy ( Diana Canova) was only 33, a divorcee with a teenage son, Jeremy ( played by Paul W. Walker and later Sean de Veritch), but she felt old when she went to work at New York's Throb Records. Throb was a small outfit with offices in a Manhattan loft, and it specialized in the more bizarre punk rock acts ( you could tell them by their pink hair). The label was run by a very short and very energetic young man named Zachary ( Jonathan Prince). An eternal optimist, Zach had more than a platonic affection for Sandy, despite the fact that she was both older and taller than he. The other principal staffers at Throb were Phil ( Richard Cummings, Jr.), a hip but businesslike black, and Blue ( Jane Leeves), a flighty young English girl who was more punk than most of the groups that paraded through the office. Meredith ( Maryedith Burrell) was Sandy's best friend, a single teacher who lived in Sandy's building.

In the fall of 1987 Sandy fell in love with the newly vacated penthouse apartment in her building and took Blue in as a roommate to help with the rent. The conflicts between conservative Sandy and free-spirited Blue became even more pronounced when they were both living and working together.
