Growing up in the Roaring 20's didn't seem to be radically different from growing up in the 1960's, as this series pointed out.The superficial things were different: flappers , bathtub gin, rumble seats, prohibition, raccoon coats, and The Charleston. The real issues were the same: conflicts with parents, troubled love affairs, the hassle of school, and maintaing " true" friends. Margie ( Cynthia Pepper) lived with her parents Harvey, a banker and Nora ( Dave Willock, Wesley Tackitt ), her little brother Cornell ( Johnny Bangert), and her Aunt Phoebe ( Hollis Irving).Her best friend Maybelle Jackson ( Penney Parker), was a flapper, and Heywood and Johnny ( Tommy Ivo, Richard Gehring) were the 2 boys fighting for her affection. To add to the period flavor of the show, Maggie's producers intermixed silent movie slides that told the audience " Please Pay Attention," "The Plot Thickens," etc., at critical points in the action.
