The Jim Backus Show : Hot Off the Wire aired from September 1960 until September 1961 in first run syndication.
Jim Backus started his sitcom career as the judge husband on I Married Joan; after The Jim Backus Show he was a favorite on Gilligan's Island and he was also the voice of Mr. Magoo. This syndicated show, however, was not a success. He portrayed John Michael " Mike" O'Toole , an editor-reporter at the Headline Press Sevice, a newspaper in financial trouble. From week to week, he dodged creditors, tried to aquire major stories and improve circulation. Dora ( Nita Talbott) was his assistant and Sidney ( Bobs Watson) was the office boy.

link to any site that is the original source of any photos.
