It's A Great life ran from September 1954 until June 1956 on NBC.
Denny and Steve ( Michael O'Shea, William Bishop), were 2 recently discharged GIs who decided to room together while trying to find civilian jobs. They headed for Southern California because Steve had been stationed there during World War 2, and loved the weather. Once in California, they found lodgings in the home of widow Amy Morgan ( Frances Bavier), whose household also included her daughter Kathy ( Barbara Bates), and her brother Earl ( James Dunn). Stories revolved around Denny and Steve's problems in adjusting to civilian life , their problems with various jobs, and the trouble they got into by repeatedly letting the conniving Uncle Earl lure them into his moneymaking schemes.
The series was syndicated under the title The Bachelors.
