Harry's Girls ran from September 1963 until January 1964 on NBC.
Harry Burns ( Larry Blyden), was a vaudeville entertainer with an act that featured 3 beautiful girl dancers, Rusty, Lois, and Terry ( Susan Silo, Dawn Nickerson, Diahn Williams). Although his act was much to old-fashioned to be successful in the United States, it was reasonably popular in Europe. Harry, in addition to being the star of the act, had to do the booking, handle finances, and try to keep tabs on the girls. The last was not always easy. Rusty was incredibly gullible and constantly falling in love, Lois was distressingly naive and often acted like a country girl on her first trip to the big city, and Terry was too sophisticated for her own good. Filmed on location throughout Europe, this series followed the travels of Harry's Girls as the act played in various continental cities. Occasional excerps from the act were shown, but only as they fit into the story.
On a sad note on June 6, 1975, while on vacation in Morocco, Larry Blyden died from serious injuries sustained in an automobile accident a week before. He would have turned 50 only twenty-two days later. At the time he was hosting the syndicated version of the classic game show What's My Line, and he was set to star in a new game show , Showoffs.
