Peter Jacobson, whose career has been highlighted by both top independent films, such as the recent "Cradle Will Rock," and big box-office successes, such as "A Civil Action" and "As Good As It Gets," makes his debut as a television series regular, portraying WSJB's station manager, Sandy, in ABC's new comedy, "Talk to Me."

The Chicago native, who also will be seen this year in the independent films, "Drop Back Ten" at the Sundance Festival, and "Pollack," directed by and starring Ed Harris, started his career in the theater, after attending Brown University and then Juilliard in New York City. He also trained at the Second City Improvisational Center in Chicago.

During the past four years, Mr. Jacobson has added television roles to his ever-growing body of film and theater work with guest leads in top series, such as "Spin City," "NYPD Blue," "Cosby," "Law & Order," "Oz" and "Remember Wenn."

Mr. Jacobson's other notable films include "Deconstructing Harry," "Conspiracy Theory," "Great Expectations," "Private Parts" and "Jeffrey."

In the summer of 1999, Mr. Jacobson appeared in "Taming of the Shrew" as a part of Shakespeare in the Park. He is also well-known for his work off-Broadway, as a member of the Blue Light Theatre Company, the Drama Department and the Atlantic Theatre Company, and for his regional theater performances in a broad range of roles in everything from "The Three Penny Opera" at the Williamstown Theatre Festival to "Cellini" at the Civita Festival in Italy.
