Mark Roberts turned his success as a stand-up comedian into an acting career that encompasses stage, film and television. Of his character in "The Naked Truth," Roberts says, "Dave is an innocent in a world of sharks. He couldn't be happier with the changes at the magazine, and he loves the fact that he's been assigned to cover pets and babies. Now that he's achieved his dream, he's determined to give it everything he's got."
A native of the Champaign-Urbana area of Illinois, Roberts was working as a stand-up comic in Chicago when he decided to audition for theatrical productions. He appeared on the Chicago stage in "American Buffalo," "Buried Child" and "Mother Courage and Her Children" before deciding to move to Los Angeles.
On television, Roberts appeared on "Star Search" and "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" as a comedian before being cast in guest-starring roles on "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air," "The Larry Sanders Show," NBC's "Seinfeld" and "The John Larroquette Show."
Roberts has also appeared in the feature films "Bullet Proof" with Adam Sandler and "Next of Kin" with Patrick Swayze.
Roberts currently resides in Los Angeles.
