Born and raised in Lawrence, Kan., Peterson, who plays a cheerleader on the series, will have no problem with that role because of her cheerleading days back home.
As a young girl, Peterson loved to perform and dreamed about going to Hollywood to pursue an acting career. In the fall of 1995, her mother agreed to take her to Los Angeles to see if she could make it in show business. After living in Los Angeles for only a few weeks, Peterson was successful in getting work. She has guest-starred on "Step by Step" and "Kirk."
In her spare time, Peterson enjoys reading autobiographies, dancing (jazz, tap and ballet), aerobics, softball, soccer, swimming and water skiing.
Peterson is the middle child in her family. She has two brothers back home who take care of her two cats, Scratch and Jackie, and her dog, Custard. She currently lives in Burbank with her mother, but her permanent residence is in Kansas. Her birthday is May 2
