This sitcom ran from September 1956 until March 1960 on CBS and later ABC. It revolved around Susanna Pomeroy ( Gale Storm) who was the social director of the S.S. Ocean Queen. She spent much of her time in cahoots with her close friend Esmerelda "Nugey" Nugent ( ZaSu Pitts), operator of the ship's beauty salon, and their alliance confounded the liner's rather stuffy Capt. Huxtly ( Roy Roberts). Adding to the captain's frustrations was the ship's steward, an impish little fellow named Cedric ( Jimmy Fairfax), who went overboard when the series moved to ABC. This filmed comedy was subtitled Oh Susanna and that was the title it later adapted when it went into syndication.
