This domestic comedy was the first starring vehicle for Betty White. Each program consisted of 3 seperate episodes in the life of a married couple, with the emphasis placed on gentile comedy and more talk than action. Betty White played Elizabeth White. Alvin ( Del Moore) was the husband, a junior executive; Chloe ( Lois Bridge), their neighbor; Richard ( Dick Garton), Alvin's not to bright friend; and Mr. Fuddy (Ray Erlenborn), Alvin's boss. Stormy was the couple's 185 pound St. Bernard and Bandie, their pekinese. The announcer was Jack Narz.
Betty White was fresh from local tv in Las Angeles, where she had originated Life With Elizabeth on KLAC-TV a year earlier. Hailed for her girl-next-door good looks ( TV Guide called her a candidate for "America's Sweetheart"), she soon had her own daytime show on NBC, then graduated to several nighttime series.
