Billy Joel has announced that 1993's River Of Dreams is his final rock album. He hasn't written a single rock song since (or so he says).

Billy retired from making rock music to record classical music. However, I think that he only recorded one classical album and that was almost seven or eight years ago. I don't think that he has done anything since then with the exception of a few tours with Elton John. Billy would beifit from going back into the studio, he seems to be a man with too much time on his hands. If you've seen pictures of Billy of late he looks terrible (Nice way of talking huh?) and he's always crashing his car or breaking bones. It's like the guy has turned into the Howard Hughes of music.

The classical album came out on October of 2001.

Billy does need to get over this retirement stuff.... he does realize about 90% of the people who bought that classical album were his pop/rock fans. It's been 11 years this month since River Of Dreams came out, it's time.
