I heard a long time ago that the reason why the group broke up is because the members in the group were jealous of Lionel Richie getting all the spotlight & they wanted him out of the group. I hope this isn't true but if that's the case, there would be no Commodores without Lionel hahahahahahahahahahahaha. U see how long they lasted when he left the group. They had 2 hits which were Going To The Bank & Nightshift. Every lead singer in a group usually leaves the group to go solo even though every lead singer doesn't always have success solo. There's only a few people who have had success solo & Lionel is one of them. Plus going solo means more money for one person than having to divide the money up when you're in a group.
