What are everyone's favorite '80s new wave artists. Mine are:

Kim Wilde
Berlin
Tears for Fears
Duran Duran
The Go-Go's
Modern English
Madness

besides the ones you mentioned:

ABC (very underrated band, no cd collection should be without The Look Of Love:The Very Best Of ABC)
Human League (everyone knows their biggest hits, but I'd also say they are vastly underrated too)
Missing Persons

I don't know if I'd called ABC new wave. That Poison Arrow/Look of Love era was probably closer to new romantic. Then it seemed like they soaked in whatever they liked and went in that direction, at least with the singles (Motown:When Smokey Sings, dance:How To Be A Millionaire). In 1989, they did an absolutely pure house music cd called UP, that I listen to to this day cause I loved house music, and that cd is pure, pure house music. ABC were chameleons.

Tears for Fears is my favorite, but I like Duran Duran, The Go-Go's, Flock of Seagulls [even know 'I Ran' was a one hit wonder], [and if Poison is considered New Wave], I love them.

The "new romantic movement" was considered part of new wave.

I do consider it a shame that ABC didn't at least enjoy Duran Duran-level success in the US. Every one of their albums was completely different from the rest of the catalogue.

Had they not split up after 1991 and done more albums, they would've become one of my all time favorite bands had they kept the quality up.

I remember when Don't You Want Me came out. They would play that video on MTV every single day and I thought they were so cool. I wonder if they are still making music. Haven't heard anything from them in years.

yes, they are still around, tho mostly touring as a nostalgia act. They did put out a new album about 2 years ago though.
