Yes, you read the title right! Laverne & Shirley is heading to Lifetime! They usually don't air any older shows like this, usually just late 80s/90s sitcoms, but this is great news!
LIFETIME TV -- MARCH 2004 LINE-UP
Schedule CHANGES listed ONLY, everything else will remain the same:
Weekdays, effective Monday, March 8, 2004:
11:00 a.m. Laverne & Shirley (replaces Mad About You)
12:00 p.m. Laverne & Shirley (replaces The Golden Girls)
As always with Lifetime any any other network, this schedule could change, but for sure Laverne & Shirley will be coming! I will try to find out how long they have leased it for.

Lifetime is becoming better than N@N.
Just as long as they keep TGG on at 11:00. That's how I fall asleep!

It totally shocked me as well. They need to also add Maude, Kate & Allie, and One Day at a Time. Great shows with women as the leads. They just need to get rid of the double airings, and they'd be great.
Something like: 8am Suddenly Susan, 8:30am Designing Women, 9-10am Mary Hartman (need an hour of that, too many episodes), 10am Maude, 10:30am Kate & Allie, 11am Laverne & Shirley, 11:30am One Day at a Time, 12pm Golden Girls, 12:30pm The Nanny, 1-3pm Movie, 3pm Mad About You, 3:30pm Laverne & Shirley, 4-7pm their dramas or whatever, 7pm The Golden Girls, 7:30pm The Nanny, 8-10pm movie/orginals, 10pm Mad About You, 10:30pm The Nanny, 11pm The Golden Girls, 11:30pm Maude, 12am Designing Women, 12:30am Ellen, 1am One Day at a Time, 1:30am Suddenly Susan, 2-3am MH, MH.

Pav,it is great that Laverne and Shirley is coming to Lifetime, never could believe it in a million years that it was coming to Lifetime. I was wondering since they reaired the Mary and Rhoda reunion movie on Lifetime a while back,if Lifetime would get rights to The Mary Tyler Moore Show and Rhoda. Does TV Land still have rights to The Mary Tyler Moore Show,I know that Rhoda doesn't air anywhere that I know of. Now,if we can get reruns of shows like Alice,One Day At A Time,The Facts Of Life on Lifetime we would get quite a lineup going.

I am so happy that Laverne & Shirley has found a new cable home. It has been about 2 1/2 years since we last seen L&S on US national television. I hope L&S does well on lifetime.
Here is my suggestion schedule for lifetime:
9 AM - "Mary Tyler Moore"
9:30 AM - "Rhoda"
10 AM - "Phyllis"
10:30 AM - "Mary Tyler Moore"
11AM - "The Golden Girls"
11:30 AM - "Ellen"
12 NOON - "The Golden Girls"
12:30 PM - "Laverne & Shirley"
1 TO 5PM - Non-sitcom programming
5 PM - "Mary Tyler Moore"
5:30 PM - "Rhoda"
6 PM - "The Golden Girls"
6:30 PM - "Laverne & Shirley"
7 to 10 PM - Non-sitcom programming
10 PM - "The Golden Girls"
10:30 PM - "Laverne & Shirley"
11 PM - "The Golden Girls"
11:30 PM - "Mary Tyler Moore"
12 MID - "Phyllis"
12:30 - "Ellen"

Love that idea, Pav :) There are a lot of great older sitcoms that are suitable for the network, not just recent ones. I'd also like to add Gimme a Break, Alice, and The Facts of Life to that :) I also agree that if they got rid of the double airings they can fit more on the schedule and have more variety.
I'm really shocked that Laverne & Shirley have joined the line-up. I really didn't think older shows would ever show up on the network. Here's a good idea, since there are so many great shows that would suit the network, they should launch a new network for old sitcoms and drams that are either about a woman/women and geared toward women. Then Lifetime could be free for more of their original programming. Just a thought I had :)

DirecTV doesn't carry it.
Nice afternoon lineup, imho. I figure it will become more available in a few years, the network hasn't been on all that long, has it? 2 years maybe?

Glad to see Lifetime is getting an older show on the air.
Now, as someone said earlier, if they would just add:
Maude, One Day At A Time, Alice, and Gimme A Break.
That would be awesome.
I'm also a guy who watches Lifetime, mainly for The Golden Girls.
I love Bea Arthur's acting.
As for Lifetime real Women, the only thing on there for me right now is the "Intimate Portrait". I like biography shows, which by the way The Biography Channel is showing less and less of to make room for more stupid 1/2 hour shows. Anyone else noticed this ??

I'm not sure if you're aware of this, but A&E has a Biography Channel now that shows all that. That's probably why A&E is showing them less and less. I think it's on mostly digital cable and satelite but I recommend you check to see if you have it and if not then send a suggestion to your cable company :)

Actually, I am referring to the "Biography Channel". Maybe I'm surfing at the wrong time, but I always seem to catch "Bio at the Movies" or "Star Treatment" or some such thing. They don't start the bigoraphies until 9pm at night instead of 8pm, like they used to. Anyway, it is still a pretty good channel. While were on that subject, thank God for TCM, since AMC doesn't show very many "classic" movies anymore and has commercials as well.
Anyone remember about 25 years ago when "Cable TV" meant channels with NO COMMERCIALS !!
At least that's how they were advertising it in my area.
Tahnks for the reply on the N@N quote. I remember watching that channel for 4 to 5 hours every weeknight in the mid to late 1980's when they had good shows (mostly B&W ones) :(
Regards,
Chad

The History Channel is in the Top 10 best channels EVER... having it in the same sentence with N@N is quite insulting.

oh, I'm not putting "The History Channel" down, I happen to like it, I like to watch their shows "Modern Marvels" & "Hands On History" among others.
I'm just comparing it to N@N to show how lame N@N has become.
