This episode was perfect - poignancy and light laughs throughout. But I missed Eli, who should have been there to give Phil a corrective edge. . . .

But anyway - nice to see Timothy Busfield back as Ed's brother. There were some wonderful moments between Ed and Lloyd, and it's wonderful to see such a bond between them. Ditto Carol and Stella, who finally have some kind of (I hate this word, but what the heck!) closure over their difficulties. Jim Gaffigan was actually watchable this time, and Toby's blossoming attraction to Shirley was sweet. And, WOW - Nancy's pregnant! (Think we'll ever find out if it's a boy or girl?)

Oh yeah, speaking of which. . . .Julie Bowen was on Ellen DeGeneres's show today, and she talked about everything - sports, her fluency in Italian - except "Ed"'s fate. Rest easy, my fellow Edheads, no news is good news!

I am holding out hope that Ed will be back next season.

But why were they advertizing next weeks episode as "The Final Episode."

That sounds pretty final to me.

The only little detail I've found is that my TiVo guide said "Season Finale" not "Series Finale." *shrugs* Hey...I'm squeezing whatever good news I can outta this disaster. :(

Anyway, I thought this was probably the best episode all season. This show's been seriously slipping the past few weeks, but they brought back some cute, funny, interesting storylines that they've been missing. I like it. :D

Loved the Warren/Stella/Carol story...especially the part when Warren walks in on Carol in the shower! Her expression was priceless. She looked like she was gonna throw up.
