Actually they have aired those episodes already (TV Land Legends: Charles Schultz and ET in TV Land: Taxi), so they were just reairings. They are not canceling the original programming. I think they are going to relaunch it on a Wednesday night starting in April, with TV Land Moguls. I bet we will see new TV Land Legends and ET in TV Land in May or June, after 'Moguls' completes its 6 episode run. I'm not sure if there are any other Inside TV Land episodes in the works. The last one was the fashion one, if I'm not mistaken.

Hey Pav.... are the winners of the "Discretionary Awards" or whatever they are called going to be announced early like last year?
If so.... could you mark something as a spoiler.
I think it ruined the show knowing the winners.

TV Land made a minor change this morning to their schedule starting March 1:
Effective, Monday, March 1, 2004:
Weekdays at 12 p.m. Maverick (replaces The Love Boat)
Weekends at 2 p.m. Maverick (replaces MacGyver)
Not to worry, The Love Boat will still air on the weekends at 12 noon, and MacGyver airs a lot of times per day.
Coming soon, will be the April schedule, I'm expecting some big changes.
Come on TV Land...(hypnotist mode).Renew the Screen Gems and WB deals...Revamp the Kitschen...The Jeffersons...End Asinine Programming Moves...No more Double-Takes...Storm the N@N offices downstairs and take control...You KNOW you want to

The reason is probably they want to get lots of viewers leading into the TV Land Awards. So they put their best shows (I guess) in marathon blocks and Cosby Show as a lead-in to it.

Totally agree, Jen1989. I thought I would blow this morning when I read this news. It had better be just temporary. I simply do not understand the fixation Viacom has with the Cosby Show. And I don't understand how the ratings could be so high. And I don't understand why it has to be aired at 8 and 8:30pm, 10 and 10:30pm, and 12 and 12:30am. I simply am baffled by this.
This is probably why there is no Cosby Show DVD collection. Why buy the DVD when you can sit down anytime after 8 and virtually watch whenever you want to...
The Cosby Show on TV Land:mad:
Unfreaking-belivable. I wish they could bring back Barney Miller, Get Smart, Chico and the Man, and Mary Tyler Moore Show those shows are 50 times better the Cosby.

Hey Pav, does TVLand/N@N/SpikeTV own the rights to "Starsky & Hutch"
Because if they do....
they would be fools not to air seeing how big of a success the movie is.
I think it would make a GREAT addition to SpikeTV....
but could also work out on TVLand as well.

I remember TNN used to air, then TV Land aired a 48 hour marathon after TNN stopped airing it. I think after that they lost rights.
So, the special marathon that just aired was bought separately.

Green Acres coming sooner is great. I'm tired of hearing from my dad about how funny it is and not being able to see it! :)
More Munsters is cool. I've just decided to start taping it again!
Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour returning is awesome! When I recorded it as We Love Lucy two-three years ago in local syndication, I pretty much lost track of the recordings.
And, this whole 7 days a week thing rocks!
And, the Cosby Show is gone!
GO! TV LAND! GO!

I've started watching The Nanny on there, and the one thing I'm sick of already is the constant Avlimil commercials. Bad as Viagra. puke:

I'm just glad Family Ties remains unchanged. For now anyway...
TV Land does change its schedule more than any other network I have ever seen.
Between TV Land and GSN, why do I even bother anymore? Seriously, half the time, it seems like both networks' programming dept's have kicked all common sense to the curb.
I mean, look at TV Land...They let the Screen Gems and WB deals expire...They relegate a show they JUST GOT THE FULL RIGHTS TO A COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO (Carol Burnett) to early morning/late night ALREADY...
Folks, I wanna be a Programming Executive when I grow up (LOL!). Seriously. One of these networks needs someone around with some SENSE. Yes, I understand that Viewer Population X likes Show A, but, I ALSO understand that the viewer population B, Frequently ignored by the Nielsen sheep, prefers Show B. So, rather than air Show A out the blankhole to cater SOLELY to Group A and small portions of B(Cosby Show, Match Game, you get the picture...), why not air shows that there stands a decent chance of catering to BOTH groups...

Oh please...whatever you do....OUST RICH CRONIN. :notworthy
Oh, and Group A has no sense of what's good...NONE. My 2 cents. DOWN WITH FAKE A DATE, SPY TV, and DOG EAT DOG.

what's "oust rich cronin"?
Well, if Group A has no sense of what's good (we'll label them the sheep), and Group B *does*, then...
<Shocking Revelation> Why Not Program to Group B! Group A will still watch anyway, being the devoted little SHEEP they are, and we'll still get what WE actually *WANT*</SR>

Rich Cronin is the CEO of Game Show Network
"oust" is a synonym for "Remove from Office"
Translation, Remove the CEO of Game Show Network from office...

That's actually impossible. **They're run by the Same People!**
And for the record, TV Land's schedule, though not horrible, could be **SO** much better, if they'd put just a BIT more effort into it.

I agree 100%.
Three's Company could have gotten a timeslot, or even TWO. Why Bonanza at 8am? Why not Bonanza at 5am. MacGyver airs twice on Spike, why twice on TV Land? Does it do that good? Same for Cheers. I like the show enough, but now that it airs on Nick again, why TVL? I'm glad Family Ties is still on, that shocked me. No need to have Munsters at 6-7pm, but It is a "60s" Twice as Nice. The things I'd change, honestly, are 8-9am, 6-7pm, 8-9pm.
The rest isn't that bad. But like Seth said, they could have put a little more effort into it.

This schedule is actually pretty good to me. The classic television has returned, I think.
Just two complaints, they should have done this I THINK:
8:00AM Bob Newhart/8:30AM Three's Company (replacing Bonanza)
11:30PM Three's Company (replaces Cheers)
I also agree that MacGyver should not be on three times per day, since it is on two times a weekday on Spike. At least can the 5AM airing and air Bonanza there, like TVJunkie101 said.

I was kind of surprised to see MacGyver on 3 times a day with it being on Spike TV. However, Spike TV will only air it at 11am starting in April. So Spike will only be showing it 4 - 5 times a week (depending on whether or not they continue with the "Marathon Mondays").
I really like the 7 days a week thing, it makes it all a lot less confusing.
I would have liked to see All in the Family keep an earlier slot. I feel kind of bad for all the Carol Burnett fans. As much as I love Cheers, I do not really see the need of it being on both networks. It's good to see the Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour back within the schedule.
The most disappointing thing about the new schedule is no Three's Company. I'm really missing it and hope we don't have to wait too much longer for its return.

I'm also disappointed with AITF/Carol Burnett. I really would have liked to see at least one slot in the evening or primetime for them(I am not a fan of Carol Burnett, but it just came to TV Land two months ago). I'd also like to see The Jeffersons and Three's Company on TV Land.

A lot of emotions are running throughout my body as I look at this most current schedule of TV Land. As the saying goes, "You take in the bad with the good" and that's clearly the case here.
While I am glad that both Green Acres and The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour have finally returned, I am a bit outraged with this schedule. For one thing, I am so sick of the TV Land overplaying "Leave It To Beaver" and putting other shows aside such as I Dream of Jeannie, Mister Ed, The Dick Van Dyke Show, or I Love Lucy. I feel it's so sickening to see because LITB has been on TV Land longer than those sitcoms mentioned above and still it's getting better treatment than they are. To add insult to injury, I was hoping that TV Land would return the Lucy/Jeannie hour at 11pm but unfortunitely that didn't happen. We are still stuck with the Nick at Nite leftovers which were previously called "Modern TV Classics". :sigh: I just don't understand TV Land that well. TV Land is so unpredictable now that I was shocked to see "The Munsters" getting to air three times in evening: 6, 6:30, and 8:30. I didn't expect that at all considering it's a short-lived series that's been pretty much on TV Land since 2000. I am fan of "The Munsters" and I'm glad it's getting excellent treatment. If only TV Land would do the same to their other shows such as Lucy, Jeannie, Mister Ed, Dick Van Dyke, Dennis, Fonzie, and countless others.
If I was in charge of the TV Land programming as of April 2004, this is what the afternoon and evening schedule would look like:
3:00 PM - "MacGyver"
4:00 PM - 3 Hour MINI-THONS: "The Munsters" on Mondays, "Carol Burnett & Friends" on Tuesdays, "Bewitched" on Wednesdays, "Happy Days" on Thursdays, and "Three's Company" on Fridays.
7:00 PM - "The Andy Griffith Show"
7:30 PM - "Green Acres"
8:00 PM - "The Munsters"
8:30 PM - "I Dream of Jeannie"
9:00 PM - "I Love Lucy"
9:30 PM - "Bewitched"
10:00 PM - "Green Acres" (second episode)
10:30 PM - "Mister Ed"
11:00 PM - "All In The Family"
11:30 PM - "Three's Company"
As you can tell, the evening schedule is Beaver-free (finally!) not to mention also "Modern TV Classic" - free.

Yes, the encores are listed in the first post in this thread. Yes, a pre-show is scheduled for 8:30 p.m., but that might be just online now. They also have scheduled Andy Griffith at 8 p.m. (& 8:30 p.m. if pre-show is just online) tonight instead of Cosby Show.
