Ride Or Die Movie

Duane Martin was the star of this movie & he plays a cop trying to go after some murderers. Vivica Fox, Meagan Good, rappers Sticky Fingaz & Jadakiss are also in this movie. I heard from some people that it came on cable station BET Starz already. It never did come to the movies & i haven't seen it at the video store. It came out last yr. I wanna check this out. The movie i heard was terrible.

I recorded it but haven't watched it yet. Duane wrote the story himself and it was directed by the same guy who directed Bluehill Avenue, Craig Ross Jr. It's billed as a Black Starz original movie, maybe that's why it hasn't hit video yet. It's Black Starz now, they don't call it BET anymore. From what little I saw, it looked decent.

I saw that movie the other night on Black Starz and it was good, not great, just good enough to entertain you. The plot was really predictable and really Shaft-ish. Duane Martin's character reminded me of Samuel L. Jackson's Shaft character where he was in tune with almost (keyword: almost) everything going on (and seemly unbeatable at times) and was a ladies man. Vivica Fox played Duane's partner/friend who makes all kinds of gadgets for him to help him on his missions and she's always trying to tag along with him, but he always declines.

Basically let me give you the plot. Duane is a P.I. who loves the ladies and the ladies love him. One day he reconnects with his old friend (Jadakiss), who is a promising rapper, and everything is cool, until Jadakiss gets murdered. Now Duane vows to find his killer with the help of Jadakiss' widowed wife (Meagan Goode) and his close friend Vivica. I'll leave you hanging right there cause I don't wanna spoil anything for you. By the way I can't remember the characters names so sorry for that, but you know who I'm talking about.

Anyway, the best thing about this movie was Duane and Vivica. I've always loved their chemistry together ever since their shows Out all Night and Getting Personal. They are not in as many scenes together as I would have wanted them to be, but it kind of payed off in the end anyway. And to think I almost didn't watch it because in the first scene Gabrielle Union was in it (don't think she's a good actress) and I was like ahh man why does she have to be in it, but thank goodness she was only in that first scene as one of Duane's chickenheads.

Like I've said it's not great, but you should check it out anyway when you get a chance, it's decent enough to keep you entertained.

Gabrielle Union was in that? I definitely wanna see it now. That's my girl & she's a good actress to me & cute as hell. Danithang next time that movie comes on, tape it for me & i'll pay u for it cause i wanna see that movie. It hasn't came to video yet & i don't have movie channels. I just got basic cable. I can see why Jadakiss was in the movie cause Ruff Ryders record label that Jadakiss is with is always saying Ride Or Die. What was Sticky Fingaz character in the movie? Was he a hoodlum or a bad guy like he always plays in his movies? LOL.

Isiahthomas, Gabrielle was only in the first 2 minutes (if even that long) of the film and that was it. Your girl Megan Goode was in a lot of it and Stacey Dash was in a little piece of it too. Stickey Fingaz did play a bad guy, but he wasn't the main bad guy so you don't see too much of him. Yeah I will record it for you next time it comes on, I just went to see if it was coming on in the next few days, but it's not so I will keep checking. I don't know when it first debuted, but I caught it this past weekend so I'm sure it will come on again soon.

Yeah I caught it tonight, vashti1999 thanks. I was flicking through and seeing what was coming on and I happened to run up on it, so I got it recorded. The first time I searched I must have overlooked it or something.

This movie will be coming out on home video March 2, though instead of "Ride or Die" it'll be called "Hustle and Heat".

Thanks for the info Vashti1999. If Danithang doesn't send me that movie, i'm gonna rent it when it comes out.
