Roger Ebert and Richard Roeper as themselves reviewing one of Alex's movies! :D Think of it:

"You know, Roger, this is Alex Young's worst performance by such a wide margin, it's hard to fathom it!"

"Dick, you don't know what you're talking about! Right now, with this performance, in this movie, Alex Young is at the top of her game as an actress, and she reminded me why she's one of America's brightest stars! This is an Oscar-caliber performance even Nicole Kidman can't match!"

"Well, one thing we both agree on is this - what does she see in that Owen fellow she's dating?"

"I have to admit, I can't see the attraction, either."

What kind of actor are we supposed to think Alex is? Actually good? I mean she does toss out those Golden Globe lines, but then we see her shooting these obviously horrible movies.

Any one else wondering this or have any ideas?

Alex seems to be all over the map with her filmography. So far, we've seen her make a standard Hollywood action movie, a lesbian love story with a scene right out of a movie from the French director Andre Techine (Thieves, starring Catherine Deneuve), and a Places In the Heart-style rural drama (We like Alex! We really, really like her!). So Alex goes from a brainless popcorn flick to a pretentious arthouse "film" to a crowd-pleasing Oscar contender. It seems that Alex is happy to take any role she's offered to keep her career going.

And she has a different hair color in each role!
