I haven’t been watching the show for terribly long – only about 4 months, but I love it! I do notice that the Mayfield residents love to name drop. Just in the last 2 weeks alone (I see LITB on TV Land here in NYC), the following celebrities have been mentioned:

Don Ameche and The Ritz Brothers ("Book report" episode – The Three Musketeers)
Jimmy Stewart and Lana Turner (girl knitting “The Sweater” for Eddie)
The Gabor Sisters, Fabian and Frank Sinatra (the “locket” one, where Beaver wins it at the fair)
Don Drysdale (they talk to him on the phone. This also cracks me up, with Gilbert’s line of “no, ma’am, we’re not a law firm,” after he list his, Alan’s and Beaver’s names as to who’s calling… Bates, Boothby and Cleaver. Hilarious!!!!)

I’m sure there were a few others, but they escape me at the moment. Any other good ones?

Man, if the show were on now, JUST THINK what they’d be saying about Michael Jackson! Especially the episode where the little girl gets locked in their bathroom. Now THERE’S a scandal for ya.

What other current celebrities would you like to see name-dropped on LITB?

Tuesday Weld was mentioned in a couple eps.
Sandra Dee, Bobby Darin, Natalie Wood, Sal Mineo, Audrey Hepburn, Cassius Clay, Tony Curtis, Douglas Fairbanks, Dale Evans, Kirk Douglas, Rockefeller and Lassie have also been mentioned. I know there are more but I can't remember them.

There was one episode where Eddie referred to Captain Kangaroo (aka Bob Keeshan).

I've also heard Elvis Presley and Johnny Unitas mentioned, too.

In an episode I saw yesterday (Wally takes a girl with an overprotective father to the all-night graduation party), Wally says something like, "Gee, I'd practically have to look like Pat Boone to please her father."
