okay, well i posted this for the 2002 last year, so I figured I do the same for this year. Here are the rules:

1) the movie must be released in 2003
2) the actor/actress must have made a movie in 2003
3) it may not be a foreign film (such as chinese,japanese,etc... (sorry guys!)
4) it must fall under the catagory! (example, dont vote for Matrix for best comedy movie of the year)
5)you may choose whatever you want, i dont have a list of people in a catagory for you to chose from
6) you may chose three different movies under each catagory.
7) I will award 3 points for your first choice 2 points for your 2nd and 1 for your third
8) I will put up the winners on Jan 1st 2004

*Note-Chicago is considered a 2002 release because it came out in limited Release Christmas Time, so it will not be counted, im sorry*

out of fairness, shouldn't we do the movie awards like how they do Grammy awards? A lot of movies come out in December that people don't get to see until next year. For example, NOBODY (well, okay, a few critics did) saw Chicago until 2003, so why should it get an unfair shaft because it came out the last week of 2002 and played in limited theaters. I think it'd be fairer to count the "movie year" as Dec 2002-Nov 2003.... like how the Grammys count the music year as Oct-Sept, so people have had time to hear everything

Damn- i would've voted Chicago!

Anyway;

Best Comedy Movie; Scary Movie 3/
Best Scary Movie; Freddy Vs Jason
Best Action Movie;
Best Holiday Movie;
Best Family Movie; Finding Nemo
Best Kids Movie; Finding Nemo
Best Thriller; (can 'Ripley's Game' count?) if not- nothing then

Best Drama; The Hours
Best Romantic Movie;
Best Superhero movie; Daredevil
Best Movie; The Hours
Best Actor; Ed Harris
Best Actress; Julianne Moore/ Ellen DeGeneres (does it count if the actress was just doing voice-work?)

I haven't seen very many releases this year- rarely visit the cinema. It took me a while to pick a best actor- I haven't seen many memorable performances from actor's this year (actresses are ruling Hollywood now- and will probably get stronger as the years go by). Also, some films released in the US in 2002 got 2003 releases in the UK (The Banger Sisters, Chicago, The Good Girl).

voice overs do count

the reason we can not have Chicago count as a 2003 is because in last years votes it was counted as a 2002. I would change the rule but it wouldn't be fair to allow it twice.
