Tonight they showed the episode " Beaver Joins A Record Club" I was laughing the whole time Beaver was doing his slick dance moves to that phony rock music. I know that if they had used real songs, they would of had to pay royalties, but a lot of that music was "not" what kids were listening to in 1962 maybe 1942 ? Usualy when they show Wally at a school dance, they are playing some sort of Lawrence Welk stuff. It would of been funny if they would of had an episode where June & Ward are coming back from the Rutherfords and as they are getting out of the car, they hear some loud blaring music and then they walk in on Wally & Julie Foster doing the mash potato (to the real song by Dee Dee Sharpe) or Chubby Checker's "The Twist" and tearing the house down.

Yeah, that would have been great. You know they mentioned several times (on other episodes) some of the singers of that day but never any "real" music.

Yes, I've heard them mention Fabian & Bobby Darrin. In the early 1960s, ballad singers were "in." June would have worried too much if Wally was listening or dancing to anything much heavier!
