get a little depressed that the writers of LITB didn't give us a nice Christmas episode. I so love sitting down every evening from Thanksgiving till Christmas and watching all the different Christmas episodes from my favorite tv shows. So many series had Christmas specials, and I know we talked about this last year, but I wanted to mention it again: I miss not seeing a Beaver Christmas episode!

I'm confused. Doesn't the episode where Beaver gives himself a haircut take place at Christmastime??? Isn't Beaver in a Christmas play???

I agree. A Christmas special would have been nice. The haircut ep wasn't really a Christmas special. They never even mentioned Christmas which didn't make any sense.

That haircut episode was originally aired in October 1957, 2 months before Christmas Day.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't remember them mentioning any holidays on the show,,, except for the Haircut episode. That would be one thing I would change about it,,, & yes it would be nice to have at least 1 real Christmas program! Maybe the storyline could have Beaver thinking he got what he really wanted for Xmas, and then finding out he didn't after opening the gifts. Then he would sulk for awhile until Ward gave him a lecture. Or maybe Beaver could help someone less fortunate than him during the holiday season. The possibilities are endless!

The Waltons, Father Knows Best....almost all the others had great Christmas shows....and until reading this posting, I had not realized LITB didn't have one! Seems like they really missed out on what could have been a great show. A good plot would have had Beav asking for all sorts of things, with Ward getting bothered about how selfish Beav was, only to find out at the end that he planned on giving all his presents to the Children's Home.

They did mention Christmas in a couple of episodes. One was when Beaver ordered the accordian and he and Wally were looking for a place to hide it. One of them said the upstairs closet would be good because there were mostly Christmas decorations in there. I think they mentioned it in another episode too, but can't remember what it was right now.

I remember Beaver singing JINGLE BELLS in an episode, and Wally asked why he was singing it, because it was no where near Christmas

Yes They did mentioned it in some episodes, but it's just not the same not having a CHRISTMAS episode.

I agree completely, Maybe it was just to much trouble for them!!!

It would have been great to have a Christmas episode. What were the writers thinking?

I wonder why they took a Christmas picture if they didn't bother to do a Christmas episode. I wish they would have done one too.
