Hi Everybody,
First off, I want to apologize for my long absence from the evboard-its been nuts around here, since the Grammy nominations and then the show itself. Things are starting to settle down and I'll be more active. Also, I am going to answer those who have PM'd me, so hang in there. Here is the main reason why I wanted to post: We are selling our piano and, hopefully, are going to raise a little cash to pay off some of Robby's hospital bills (3 brain surgeries and a chest implant). Before I do it, I wanted to get your opinions, suggestions, etc. This is the piano that Amy started playing when she was 13 and all through high school and after. Songs on "Fallen" were first worked out on this piano (a Hamilton upright in nice condition) and I have lots of pictures of Amy on it and Ben, too as they hashed out these tunes. We have been given a new piano and that's why we are selling it. To us it is just our old piano (we've had it ten years) but to someone else (a fan, Planet Hollywood, collectors) it might be considered a nice collectible. Please share your thoughts with me and suggestions. Talk to you soon! Take care, Dad.

Thanks, everyone. I appreciate the suggestions. I will definitely have Amy sign it on the inside and write something clever with a permanent marker. And I will even give the buyer a bunch of pictures and printed documentation. I don't feel right having Ben sign it since it wasn't Ben's piano it was Amy's. Even though they sat at it for hours and hours through High School. I remember the time last year when Ben was on my couch and Amy was on the piano and I walked in and they asked me to be quiet. Amy was playing "My Immortal" for Ben on the piano so he could "approve" of her playing it on stage (he was a bit of a control freak). She had practiced very hard on that and I think he was surprized she could pull it off. It was like she was auditioning for him. Stories like that I'll write down and give to the buyer. I have contacted Hard Rock Cafe, Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, The Arkansas Museum, Planet Hollywood, and Wind-Up Records (the owner collects memorabilia) and a few others. To be honest, it will probably end up on EBAY in a week or two. I will let you know.
