To escape the IRS after they can't afford to pay their rent and taxes for their apartment, Kelly and Bud Bundy drive out of Chicago and end up out of gas in the middle of nowhere, but they walk til they see a house, an amish house. They have to pretend to be Amish, so they can have free room and board, but little did they know, the Amish family wanted them to help them do chores. Kelly's fake Amish name is Mary-Elizabeth. Bud's fake Amish name is Joshua. The father, Samuel, and his sons, Sammy JR, John, and Joseph teach Joshua how to farm and plant/grow crops, etc, as the mother, Eloise, and her daughters, Annabelle, Margaret, and Rose teach Mary-Elizabeth how to cook, clean, garden, knit/sew, crochet, etc.
But when Al and Peggy are notified about their kids's being in trouble. It's only a matter of time until Al, Peg, Marcy, and Jefferson set out to find them, before the IRS does.
"Mary-Elizabeth" being 26, "Joshua" being 23. They get along with Samuel and Eloise's children. Joshua is to share a room with his "brothers"; Sammy JR. (19), John (17), and Joseph (16). Mary-Elizabeth is to share a room with her "sisters"; Annabelle (18), Margaret (15), and Rose (12). Joshua falls for Annabelle 9and vice versa), as Sammy Jr falls for Mary-Elizabeth (and vice versa).
After a couple months of not finding them, Al, Jefferson, Peg, and Marcy still dont give up. But Bud and Kelly tend to get use to the arrangement there and the love and affection. But Bud and Kelly, or stall I say Mary-Elizabeth and Joshua, get word that Samuel and Eloise want to adopt them as their own.
Is it time to fess up or be adopted and forget their past? Will their parents and D'arcys find them? before the IRS does? Will Bud and annabelle have sex before Sammy Jr and Kelly do? or Vice Versa?
What happens when bud absently-mindedly calls home, and talks to Al and Peg, but the IRS are there listening too, as are the D'arcys. Does Al, Jefferson, Peg, and Marcy beat the IRS in time to see Kelly and Bud. But will Samuel and Eloise let Kelly and Bud leave with their real parents? Do Annabelle and Sammy Jr actually take the roles of Kelly and Bud Bundy and get hauled off to jail?
