Jerry's Father (Norman) was in the service, and was posted in California, thats where he met his wife (Marilyn).
At the time Jerry's parents Norman and Marilyn were married, his father Norman had already signed his first teaching contract at Rock Rapids High school, in Iowa.
Jerry's parents return to Sioux City, this is when Jerry was born(a star) is born, June 2,1948.
Four more children; One sister and three brothers would follow.
Not much later Jerry's Aunt wrote to his parents to tell them that Notre Dame High School was being built in the Valley, his dad eagerly applied there for a teaching position, he had all the credentials. The members of the board were impressed. the job was his. When Notre Dame High School opened in 1949, Jerry's father was on the faculty as a teacher and a coach.
They rented a little white Bungalo in Hollywood,Ca, not far from Paramount Studio's.
