What are your comments on the new TGIF on ABC Friday? Where are the silly, family-friendly shows like Family Matters, Step by Step, Sabrina, and Boy Meets World? The new shows seem to appeal to an older audience.

I think TGIF would be stronger if the premired "The Big House" at 8:30pm and shipped "Married to the Kellys" or "Life with Bonnie" to another night. The show looks like it would hold much of "George Lopez" audience and seems pretty interesting.

Here are my comments on the rest of the ABC Comedies

8 Simple Rules: Great ratings due to death of John Ritter - funny show - with an uncertain future

I'm with her: I really don't like this show but I watch it because its between Rules and Jim

According to Jim: Improving every season! Better ratings - even beating Frasier - will prob stick around for a while

Less than Perfect - A little stronger than last season due to stronger lead in - Funny show that will probably anchor a night next season

My Wife and Kids - Headed for syndication

It's all Relative - Retainingmost of MW&K's audience

George Lopez - Funny show that should have higher ratings

Married to the Kelly's - A unique show that is doing fair

Hope and Faith - One of the better new sitcoms that is actually funny and worth watching

Life with Bonnie - Although this show is not doing good ratings wise, I still like because it has its funny moments

Drew Carey - Should have been canceled several years ago

The Big House - A good show for TGIF (between George and Hope and Faith)

All in all, ABC (in my opinion) has the best comedies except for The king of Queens, Everybody loves Raymond, and Friends on CBS and NBC. I think ABC will continue to develope strong sitcoms while the other networks will focus more on dramas.

What are your comments???

ABC is good at sitcoms. Outside of Monday CBS can''t develope sitcoms(King Of Queens and Becker started on Monday) and NBC hasn't had a smash hit sitcom since Will and Grace in 1998. Scrubs is a moderate hit but not a smash one.
