View Full Version : Why do Gimme A Break, Amen, 227, and other 80's shows never get recognized anymore?

I know Amen was on TBS all last year but at 6:30 AM

227 was on Nick at Nite 3 years ago for 1 night of 8 episodes I think

And Gimme A Break hasn't been shown on cable network channels since it ran on USA in 1998.

These shows, along with others that haven't been seen much really need improvement. They need to be shown again. They are all TBS and Nick at Nite Material.

I think they should do another revenge of the 80's on Nick at Nite and show Amen, Gimme A Break, and other shows which they didn't show last time, and create a new TV LAND where these shows, as well as other 80's shows that Nick at Nite dropped for all these present-day ****ty shows can be seen all the time from now on.

I don't know. I love all those shows. I wish Silver Spoons, Small Wonder, Perfect Strangers and Head of the class were on as well. I know PS and HOTC was on at Nick at night but at 4am. Give me a break. It seems like the only sitcom from the 80's anybody is interested in is the Cosby Show.

But if they started running *quality* shows, when would they find the time to play 36 episodes of Cheers, Rosanne, and/or Cosby? I'm not positive but I'm pretty surte... aren't those the only shows they have any more? Seems like that's all I can ever find on :(

Personally, I want more VARIEYT. I'm sick of "Back-To-Back" episodes.

Currently, 227 airs in syndication on a few stations. Out in Chicagoland on WCIU. I wish all stations were like that one. Also it's airing on WUPA in Atlanta, a UPN affiliate as well as in Greensboro, North Carolina on their WB affiliate.

Gimme A Break has aired in the Myrtle Beach and Chicago areas within the past couple years. Currently, a station in the Dallas/Fort Worth area airs it weekdays. Starting next week, the UPN station in Montgomery will air it weekly in the evening slot.

There are a lot of locals airing Amen. Just like there are for Charles In Charge, Fresh Prince and all other shows.

That may be fine and dandy for the people who live in those areas. But what about people like me? I live in Delaware. We even get Pennsylvania's local channels and still...these shows arent aired for reruns. I would love to have an all 80s channel, even if it's cable.

As a digital cable subscriber, it pisses me off. I still manage to see the same stuff all the time. It makes me sick!
