At the TV DVD Conference in Los Angeles; Paramount had a recorded presentation about their future DVD plans, and Bosom Buddies, Happy Days, Mork & Mindy and Taxi were all mentioned. However, no release timeframe was given. For more information visit TV Shows On DVD.com (http://www.tvshowsondvd.com).

TVShowsOnDVD.com hasn't mentioned anything about Paramount mentioning it, so my guess is no. However, it sure sounds like they have A LOT of upcoming releases. However, I wouldn't be surprised if Family Ties were to be announced/released in the near future :)

Ive never really though about distributors and that kind of thing for a TV show until now.
But Im glad Paramount is going right into it.

From what is already out, and what is coming.
Paramount is the best.

Now only if Sony, WB, and Disney would hurry it up....

And Universal. Shows like Charles In Charge, Gimme a Break, Kate & Allie, and many others deserve to be on DVD.

It has just been announced on TV Shows On DVD.com (http://www.tvshowsondvd.com) that Columbia TriStar is planning to release Bewitched and I Dream of Jeannie on DVD to tie-in with their theatrical movie in 2005.

Star Trek: Voyager isn't the only TV show Paramount has scheduled for release in 2004. According to a Video Business (http://www.videobusiness.com/article.asp?articleID=6535&catType=NEWS) article (free registration required), Paramount plans to release the first season of Touched by an Angel sometime in 2004. Also released in 2004 are the first seasons of Resurrection Blvd. and Hogan's Heroes. The other titles mentioned in the article that have been posted here before include: Punk'd, season 2 of Cheers and Frasier and season 3 of CSI and I Love Lucy (which obviously means season 2 is coming out as well).

Itll be a tough fight between Paramount and WB to win the TV DVD wars.

Even though Fox already has it in the bag.
(with their animated series)

Columbia Tristar/Sony Pictures Television needs to jump in to TV on DVD along with Disney (touchstone)

DavisDVD.com (http://www.davisdvd.com) is reporting today that Laverne & Shirley - The Complete First Season is in-the-works for DVD release later this year. Paramount verifies that information, but offers nothing more at this time. Stay tuned, and we'll have complete details for you as soon as the studio makes it available. Our thanks to Patrick Mizra of DavisDVD for alerting us to this.

That's good news, but here's something else to chew on when thinking about this release: Doesn't it only make sense that if Paramount is releasing Laverne & Shirley this year, that they'd also release Happy Days at the same time? It sure would be odd to me if Paramount released the one without also releasing the more popular predecessor.

YES!!!! This is such great news! I will definitely buy this DVD set when it comes out. Isn't this weird, so MANY classics tv shows are coming out on DVD (it seems like all at once).

Already, several of my favorite shows have or making its to DVD:
"Green Acres"
"Happy Days"
"I Love Lucy"
"Mary Tyler Moore"
"Three's Company"
"Mister Ed"
"The Lucy Show"
"Sanford and Son"
"Laverne & Shirley"
"The Dick Van Dyke Show"
"Here's Lucy"
"The Jeffersons"

I bet that Paramount would release L&S and HD on the same day.
And then a couple months later -- release seasons 2 on the same day.

Paramount has been doing the same thing with "Cheers" and "Frasier".

But from what Paramount has announced, I would buy these shows on DVD....

Cheers
Frasier
Bosom Buddies
Taxi
I Love Lucy
Happy Days
Mork & Mindy
Laverne & Shirley
(and waiting for news about Family Ties, The Brady Bunch, and Spin City in season sets.... along with many more)

I read that Happy Days has a problem with music rights. Remember, the early shows had popular 50s songs by original artists playing through it. Not to mention the original theme. Otherwise, it doesn't make any sense to release L&S before Happy Days. I'm sure they'll sort it out. Maybe they'll be a soundtrack disk with a Happy Days DVD set.
